Costco Q3 2025 Trends
Every week, you’ll find our team walking the aisles of clubs across the nation, gathering insights and emerging trends for our clients. Our November 2025 recap included the following insights:
▪️ Many general merchandise items appear to have been sourced domestically or held at prior-year pricing, limiting inflationary impact. High-ticket imports like premium pre-lit trees saw more pressure, while food pricing has remained relatively stable outside volatile commodities.
▪️ Holiday sets once again hit clubs early and are showing strong sell-through, but our team noted the middle seems to have thinned out this year with fewer mid-priced items and a sharper divide between high-end “wow” pieces and value-driven offerings. Toys are leaning into smaller sets and collectibles under $50, and books are back in the mix to drive value this season.
▪️ We’re seeing buyers increase emphasis on country-of-origin based sourcing strategies across categories, as they emphasized during Costco’s recent Supplier Day. The company’s new Global Foods team, combining US and international buyers, underscores the need for vendors to reassess sourcing strategies amid Costco’s evolving global structure.
